The Cashew Value Chain of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture has undertaken a new project of producing 43,000 kg Brazilian Jumbo and Indian Dwarf variety cashew seedling. The main objective of this is to ensure high productivity in the Cashew producing States. This would in turn increase employment opportunities for youths of the producing states. Realizing this opportunity requires a coordinated approach to develop the value chain in an integrated manner. For this reason, National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN), which is the mandate Association for the value chain has worked with the cashew farmers all over the country to support its evolution into a regional cashew consortium.

The Cashew Value Chain focuses on overcoming constraints in three areas:

    • Seeds and inputs
    • Processing
    • Infrastructure
