It has come to the attention of the Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development – Chief Audu Ogbeh that in spite of several public warnings, some online impersonators have continued to open fake Facebook accounts using his name and photographs with the intention to defraud unsuspecting members of the Nigerian public.
It would be recalled that the Hon. Minister had on May 3rd, 2017 issued a Statement warning the General Public that all Facebook accounts in his name are fake as he has no personal Facebook Account.
The general public is by this statement again, warned to disregard any Facebook account bearing the name and photographs of the Hon. Minister and to note that several of these fake accounts have been shut down by Facebook repeatedly on request but have unfortunately, continued to spring up, making phony offers of Agricultural loans/Grants and fake/non-existent Government Programmes etc. to defraud the public.
For the avoidance of doubt, the official Facebook Channel of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, through which the Honourable communicates, can be accessed by following this link: https://www.facebook.com/fmardnig/
The only personal social media account maintained by the Hon. Minister is on Twitter via a Verified Twitter Handle: @AuduOgbeh, to follow the Hon. Minister on Twitter, kindly follow this link: https://twitter.com/AuduOgbeh and to follow the official Verified Twitter account of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development @FmardNg, click here: https://twitter.com/FmardNg
The General Public is by this public notice advised to unfriend all Facebook Accounts purporting to be the Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development – Chief Audu Ogbeh, as the accounts are fake and created to defraud members of the public. Do NOT be a victim. Be warned!
